Redfern Terrace

Habit8 transformed a small, under-utilised courtyard in Redfern into a useable, versatile and adaptable space. The design focused on creating a water feature and reflection pool surrounded by a timber deck area. The timber deck was designed with a sunken table in the middle which can be lifted up to form a drinks table, dinner table or be lowered flush to create level open space. The courtyard was designed with a dual-use in mind, being able to function as an entertaining area and car space if required. This courtyard has been featured in many publications such as Jamie Durie’s book The Outdoor Room, Women’s Weekly and Burke’s Backyard magazines.
